Obituary


John W. Young Jr. who went home to be with the Lord on the morning of March 10, 2013. With his mercy, he has relieved him of all burdens, pain and pills.

He was born in Buckholts, Texas to John Wellington Young Sr. and Mary Laura Young. He spent many years of his youth on the family farm where he acquired values and lessons to impart to his family. John W. Young Jr. who went home to be with the Lord on the morning of March 10, 2013. With his mercy, he has relieved him of all burdens, pain and pills.

He was born in Buckholts, Texas to John Wellington Young Sr. and Mary Laura Young. He spent many years of his youth on the family farm where he acquired values and lessons to impart to his family. As a young man he entered the Army and served as a Sergeant in L Company of the 338th infantry division. His tour in WWII included North Africa and Italy. Captured by Germans in North Italy he spent nearly seven months as a P.O.W. When asked he said he had enough of boats and that he had walked up and down Italy and had seen all that he saved to see . After the War, he found employment with Arm is Steel where he worked until he retired.

Our father is preceded by his father, mother, and son David. Of his siblings, only Frank and Helen remain to share their early family stories. He is survived by his wife of forty five years TessieRee Young; sons William, Donny, Danny, daughters Brenda, Joyce, Linda, Arlene, grandchildren JR, Misty, Priscilla, Stephen, Michael, Vanessa, Keith, great grandchildren Andrew and David.

Memorial Service will be held at 10 AM Friday March 15 at Calvary Hill Cemetery Humble Texas 77338.
